John 4:11 Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water."

John 7:37b-39a Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." By this he meant the Spirit.

Rain & Relaxation

In stark contrast to yesterday, today was pretty unexciting. I haven't really "relaxed" as the blog title suggests, but I haven't been pressed to finish a number of tasks either. The internet was out for a few hours hampering my productivity slightly, but I didn’t really need that much time online anyway. It rained for the first time during my trip (in the daytime at least) in the early afternoon for a couple hours and then another hour or so in the late afternoon. I managed to make a trip to town in the dry period. I don’t think drizzle exists here, when it rains, it’s a pounding rain. As a result, the dirt roads (and shoulders of the paved roads) get quite muddy very quickly. This makes walking a comedic combination of slipping, sliding, and stepping gingerly.

Isaac and I were planning to go meet one of the government agencies related to the environment. Isaac wants to give a demonstration on Aqua Clara’s program as part of a large demonstration meeting on World Environment Day (June 5th) so we were going to give them an idea of what we do. It turns out that a nearby military academy was having its graduation/commencement and was attended by Kenya’s president. As a result all government officials in the area went to that so our meeting didn’t happen.

Scott and Claire returned late this afternoon. Scott has picked up an amoeba (which Claire had a week or two ago) and is thus not feeling very well. They will be here until Monday morning when they head to Nairobi for a couple days before flying back to US.

I uploaded some pictures of my trip so far to my facebook account. They can be viewed at this link even if you do not have a facebook account. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10100552500626248.2954042.13750887&l=44fb9b0dc2
